"Are you ready...?" I painted as a Tribute to the great "Godfather" of Metal, Lemmy Kilmister (Ian Fraser Kilmister  24 December 1945 – 28 December 2015) 

Are you Ready...? (A Tribute to Lemmy Kilmister)

Lemmy, was a British musician and singer-songwriter who founded and fronted the rock band Motörhead. His music was one of the foundations of the heavy metal genre. He was known for his appearance (including his friendly mutton chops)

Lemmy is a hero to so many. Outspoken, he was always ready to take on the world and tell it just how he saw it whether they liked it or not. And with no frills. What I admired most was that he gave his fans courage to "be themselves".  One such quote from Lemmy says it all. 

"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people."  Lemmy

The decision to release the design for Lemme just after Thanksgiving for the 1st holiday sale was a bit of an anomaly. I had already named the painting "Are you Ready?" When I was putting the ad together for the next morning, I realized the Theme for Black Friday sale "Are You Ready?" was just perfect to help build anticipation for the newly named RockArt design Series and sale. I couldn't have not planned that one any better. 

Lemmy's powerful energy of "just get 'er done" was exactly what I needed to energize the kick off of Black Friday. Like it or not were taking it down to the bone. The object of the sale was to just pay the bills and to get the T-Shirts in peoples hands and on their backs. That's it! And it was a grand success.
